Among Revelation’s most debated images is the 144,000 sealed from the tribes of Israel (Rev 7:4–8) and the great multitude that no one could count (Rev 7:9–17). Jehovah’s Witnesses have taught that exactly 144,000 will rule with Christ in heaven, while futurists treat the passage as a literal end-times census of ethnic Israel.
